about.
Greetings,

I'm Marvina Haynes and I'm running to be your city council member in Ward 4. First off, I'd like to say I'm exceptionally grateful for such a meaningful opportunity to serve our strong and beautiful community. I'd like to take a brief moment to share with you (my peers) some information about myself and my vision.

Professionally, I'm a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and a small business owner. I'm also self-motivated and deeply passionate about transformative change within our community. This has influenced me to attend multiple training seminars and courses on community organizing. I have also served in several leadership roles for a number of excellent organizations--having held positions such as founder, CEO, executive director, and activist.

Formatively, these relevant positions have enhanced my organizing skills, proper networking fundamentals, media insight abilities, and efficient strategizing comprehension. Over the years, I have done public speaking, tabling, canvassing, and led protests.

As your city council candidate, I will advocate for the following:
Rent Stabilization:
-
I will advocate for stable rent and stable property taxes. This includes ensuring fair and equal housing for all.

Public Safety:
-
I will advocate for the safety and security of all community members and their families.

Public Works:
-
I will ensure that money goes back into the infrastructure for the community. First and foremost, I will be prioritizing safe streets for driving, by reducing the number of potholes.

Thank you for taking time to learn about me. I strongly encourage you to reach out to me to make sure your voice is heard about changes you want to see in your community, and please do not hesitate to ask me any additional questions you may have.

Best,
Marvina Haynes
